TW Ferm Co. 2014 Cultivator Red (Paso Robles)

This small-production wine (just 22 cases) is a blend of 53% Malbec, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot that spent 32 months in 35% new French oak. Aromas of caramel, chocolate cake and black cherry are cut by a minty lift. The palate shows similar weight and richness, with flavors of baked strawberry, cinnamon and caramel sauce. It's soft on the palate and chalky in texture, boasting a butterscotch finish. Matt Kettmann
