The bouquet is confusing: There's mushroom, peanut, root beer and bramble bush—but hardly any fruit. Then in the mouth it goes fruity and snappy, offeringthe essence of cranberry and other red berries. The finish has length to it, but all in all it's basically a simple wine without a lot of individuality. —M.S.
