Shiraz expresses itself uniquely in the historic Hunter Valley, and this equally historic winery has produced a lovely example, fermented in open-topped vats and aged in 2,700 liter French oak casks. Lovely, heady aromatics of high-toned red berries, florals and licorice lead to a medium- to full-bodied palate that prickles with acidity amid juicy fruit, all wound together with soft yet taut, savory tannins and a long, saline finish.
