Umathum 2013 Vom Stein St. Laurent (Burgenland)

Autumnal leaf, tea leaf, graphite and wet pebble on the nose promise complexity and signal evolution. The palate confirms this with maple and tea-scented, tart red cherry and wonderfully elusive aromatics. The palate is a picture of finesse: a fine-boned, tart structure of graceful, resolved tannins frames purest red currant fruit, still fresh as a daisy amid these evolving notions. What a lovely, glorious and supremely elegant wine that captures the soul of Sankt Laurent. Simply wonderful. Anne Krebiehl MW
