A hint of flint, a touch of licorice and the intensity of black cherry come together on the aromatic nose. The palate still carries gorgeous sprays of white pepper that pervade everything. Smooth, silky tannins have begun to resolve themselves, clothing everything in smooth, soothing elegance. It is a wonderful wine, with a touch of elderberry on the finish. Anne Krebiehl MW
