It opens with a lovely bouquet of berries and bourbon barrel. The tart acids underscore a classic structure with polished tannins and just the right amount of herbal accents. Small amounts of Merlot and Cab Franc add complexity. As with many reds from 2011, this will reward decanting for at least 5–6 hours.
