Valcan 2015 Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

Editors' Choice

Aromatic and elegant, this exceptional value recalls a very good village Burgundy. From a top vintage, it's in a prime drinking window, with dried Italian herbs, rhubarb, brambly berry and gentle tannins. Twenty months in (presumably) neutral barrels has smoothed it out and places it in perfect balance for near-term enjoyment. Paul Gregutt
