Valcan 2017 Syrah (Rogue Valley)

Though 2017 was a lighter vintage in the north, the grapes ripened fully in the Rogue as this lively Syrah proves. It's aromatic and loaded with brambly berry fruit that has a punchy peppery note. The tannins are balanced and add touches of dried herbs. The wine was aged for two years in 20% new oak. Paul Gregutt
