Valenciso 2011 Reserva (Rioja)

Leafy aromas are on the stalky, damp and stewed side and not particularly fresh or fruity. In the mouth, this is more bright and bold, with earthy, stalky plum and hard spice flavors. A note of oxidation appears on a finish that tastes toasty on the surface—very good but not great. Michael Schachner
