In no way is this Malbec standard. The nose puts out leather, smoked meat and no small amount of funk, and at first the palate seems extra earthy and raisiny. But with time and air the wine gains its legs and exhibits character, herbal notes, pure fruit and length on the finish. Unconventional but intriguing.
