Valentini 2018 Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo

Pretty closed upon opening, this needs some time to stitch together, so decant or enjoy leisurely over a long meal. Tight aromas of pomegranate, coriander seed and red currant slowly unfurl on the nose. The medium-bodied palate displays a mix of textures and flavors, from smooth raspberry and racy pomegranate, to powdered white pepper and slick wet stones. The alcohol shows its face a bit, but it's well compensated for by the detail of flavor and texture. Alexander Peartree
