A full-fruit nose is lightly toasted, with a flicker of menthol and tobacco coming from the combination of ripe berry fruit and oak. A saturated palate is intense but still a bit rough at this young age. Rubbery berry, plum and spice flavors get clipped on the finish by hard drying tannins. This needs more time; best from 2020–2032. Michael Schachner
