A bit sweet, confected and fluffy on the nose, especially for Syrah. And it's definitely on the heavy side as the flavors lean toward raisin and prune and stewed plum. Finishing notes of chocolate and toast come straight from the barrel, and with such a heavy outlook it's doubtful this one will age for long.
