Veranda 2007 Oda Carmenère (Colchagua Valley)

Hard, spicy and rubbery on the nose, with ripe, semi-baked flavors of rubber, black fruit and hardy oak. There's a ton of wood spice and clove as it opens, and nothing is finessed. Dark and chocolaty on the finish, with even more oak. Michael Schachner
