Vetrère 2016 Barone Pazzo Primitivo (Salento)

Rather closed on the nose, aromas of toasted coriander seed and cocoa nibs arise with time in the glass, with a hint of a dense blackberry core riding underneath. It's luscious and rounded in feel, but not entirely expressive of fruit. A blackberry syrup flavor is framed in dark spice tones, with just enough acidity to lend support. Alexander Peartree
