Vicara 1999 Cantico della Crosia Barbera (Monferrato)

Despite a leafy, damp nose that takes forever to open, this wine has plenty to offer once you start drinking it. The palate is packed with raspberry, chocolate and buttery oak. Even more oak comes on late in the finish. Full and vital acidity keeps it vibrant, making it a fine wine for dinner. Michael Schachner
