Villa Mt. Eden 1998 Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Indicative of the vintage, this wine is crafted of light fruit. There's only so much that oak can add to the thin, tart flavors. The result is astringent, with a bitter, almost Chianti-like finish. Rather like a Bordeaux from a poor year.
