Villa Oneiro 2016 Pinot Noir (California)

Editors' Choice

For being five years old from the recently designated and not yet proven Palos Verdes Peninsula appellation southwest of Los Angeles, this is a promising wine. Aromas of cherry syrup and cola lead into a tightly woven palate of dried cherry and caramel, showing that this region can provide familiar flavors despite an extreme coastal setting. Matt Kettmann
