Villa Pillo 2000 Syrah (Tuscany)

Rich, with bacon, mineral and a certain horsey note that interferes with the rest of the bouquet. The palate is sweet as it deals beet, caramel and carob, but there doesn't seem to be much spice to this warm-weather Syrah. Good tannins and acids keep it fresh. Michael Schachner
