Villa San Juliette 2017 Reserve Grenache (Paso Robles)

Intriguingly savory aromas of strawberry and gun smoke meet with pepper and leather on the nose of this bottling, which recalls Grenache walking into a Wild West saloon. There's a smoky kick to the palate as well, where the fresh red fruit is turning a bit nutty rather quickly. Pleasant now but drink up soon. Matt Kettmann
