While this isn't terrible, for a gran reserva from a vaunted vintage it leaves much to be desired. A stalky nose is briary at best and mulchy at worst. A tannic, raw and rubbing palate deals herbal berry and oak flavors, while the finish is woody and not fruity. Michael Schachner
