Viña Casas Patronales 2010 Maucho Reserva Carignan (Maule Valley)

This is an unrepentant wood bomb. Immediately the nose explodes with syrupy berry aromas and toasty oak. In the mouth, it's soft and not at all tannic, while roasted, rooty flavors of berry fruits finish with a lasting blast of licorice and hickory. Michael Schachner
