This deep garnet-colored wine has a nose of dark plum and anise. Satiny tannins play backup to flavors of pomegranate, cherry, dark chocolate, ouzo, clove and black pepper. Spice flavors dominate over fruit, but a sense of brightness remains on the palate into a finish marked with a splash of orange. Mike DeSimone
