Vineyard 48 2004 Reserve Merlot (North Fork of Long Island)

A spicy aroma with wafts of clove and fruit entice, but there's little depth beyond. There's a thinness to the mouthfeel and the flavors are overoaked, but the wine is easy to drink if you are not expecting much more than the basics. The finish is short and lean. Susan Kostrzewa
