From the get-go this is a serious Rioja with a lot of oak. Aromas of vanilla and rubbery berry fruits come in front of a high-acid, spiky palate. Flavors of tobacco, licorice, berry and cedar are shrill but run long, with lasting acidity. Drink through 2024. Michael Schachner
