This wine is quite sappy and herbal overall, aromas are open knit. There's menthol and licorice amid pure plum and black currant fruit along a chocolaty oak spine. Silky fruit on the palate is neatly balanced by savory, powdery tannins. A touch of alcohol heat can be felt. A winter warmer now, or cellar until 2036. Christina Pickard
