From dry-farmed, hillside vineyards known for low yields, this is an austere, extracted wine, full bodied and yet showing cooler aspects of herb, peppercorn, tar, pencil and cedar. Chocolate, cassis and cherry come in midway on the palate, before the wine finishes savory and ripe.
