Spicy and dry on the nose, this bears standard dark-berry and cassis aromas touched up by a lot of oak. It feels grabby and tannic, but pure, with flavors of plum, cassis, sweet oak, coffee and toast. It's oaky on the finish, with vanilla and spice flavors along with some heat.
