Opens like a full-bore barrel buster with heavy char and leather. With time it settles on coffee, toast, chocolate and fig aromas. The palate is big and chewy, with peppery, toasty blackberry fruit and then more toast and coffee on the finish. Seems as much about the barrel as the fruit.
