Initial aromas are of black currant, blackberry, capsicum, black cherry and plum. The palate carries through on these flavors, also adding hints of smoke, dried tobacco and charred wood, providing additional interest and complexity. Tannins are chalky, but not too intense, never overwhelming the well-balanced flavor and structure of the wine as a whole. Finish lingers on those smoky tones in a very pleasant, captivating way.
