In this vintage of Little Poppet, the Semillon and particularly the Sauvignon Blanc are out in full force. Lemon in color and just a tad cloudy, the wine's reductive notes on the nose mingle with pungent green-vegetal aromas reminiscent of canned green beans. Underneath those lie high-toned tropical-fruit notes. The palate is better integrated and here it's all about the texture. Medium to full bodied, the veg and fruit ride along on a slippery mouthfeel. Those seeking an outside-the-box white will find this an intriguing, if slightly odd-ball drop. Christina Pickard
