90pointsWesterly 2011 Sauvignon Blanc (Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara)

Editors' Choice

A seriously good wine, showing how well this warmish appellation can develop Sauvignon Blanc in a cool vintage. The wine is dry and lively in acidity, with subtle, complex citrus, tobacco and white pepper flavors. Very versatile at the table. Production was just over 1,000 cases, but it's worth a search.
