WildAire 2019 Summit Series “Cascade Head” Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

This wine is made by “pre-blending” wines that had just been pressed off their skins and settled in tank. The blend is then placed into a single new Mercurey barrel. The resulting wine, all 25 cases of it, features enticing black cherry, lemon, wet modeling clay, lemon peel and dried rose-petal aromas. The wine's tannins are to the grippy side, with soft acidity and a rich mouthfeel. Flavors include ripe raspberries, cedar, forest floor and a mild meaty note. Michael Alberty
