William Cole 2009 Columbine Special Reserve Pinot Noir (Casablanca Valley)

Opens with heavy aromas of earth, compost and baked fruit. The palate has a corresponding heaviness and sweet, roasted, buttery black-fruit flavors. Sticky and oaky on the finish, with lasting sweetness and some bitterness. Chunky and clunky, but not a bad wine. Michael Schachner
