This is a juicy, dense wine from João Silva e Sousa and Francisco Baptista that is packed with dark, steely tannins. A field blend of 10 Douro red varieties, with 12 months of wood aging, it's ripe in sweet, rich red fruits that are balanced by intense acidity. Still young, the wine will be better from 2017.
