Wittmann 2017 Morstein GG Grosse Lage Riesling (Rheinhessen)

Editors' Choice

Brisk lemon and white grapefruit aromas are accented by smoke and crushed mineral in this stately dry Riesling. Grapefruit and apple flavors fill the palate in silky, supple waves, but piercing acidity and murmurs of astringency lend structure and vibrancy. It is a stunning wine now, but is likely to hold well through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
