Wolff 2017 Red Wolff Red (Central Coast)

A bit extracted on the nose, this kitchen-sink blend of 34% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Grenache, 11% Barbera and 9% Syrah offers aromas of blackberry, dried tarragon, lavender and grape seed. It's sour on the palate, with black-plum skin and light licorice flavors, framed by itchy tannins. Matt Kettmann
