Solid, with full-bodied, muscular fruit. There's also plenty of big wine stuff—tar, tea and cracker—in this substantial blend of Syrah, Merlot, Cab Franc and Cabernet. A very drinkable bottle, packed with black cherry and clove. This is what a secondary wine, taken from the lesser barrels of its big brother, should taste like. Paul Gregutt
