Woodward Canyon 2000 Charbonneau White (Walla Walla Valley (WA))
Named for the vineyard that sources the grapes, Woodward Canyon's Meritage white wine is 83% Semillon and 17% Sauvignon Blanc. Intensely aromatic, it smells of grass and herbs, tastes of citrus, apple, pineapple and apricot, and picks up texture and oak from barrel fermentation. Big, spicy, ripe and slightly hot, it's a no-holds-barred style for those who believe size counts. Paul Gregutt
