Wynns Coonawarra Estate 2000 Shiraz (Coonawarra)

Seems heavy on the American oak, displaying lactic, dill-laden aromatics that partially mute the berry fruit underneath. Still, the tart berries come through on the finish—a good sign for the future. Give it a couple of years in the cellar to come together. —J.C. Joe Czerwinski
