Y Rousseau 2014 Tannat (Mendocino County)

Cellar Selection

This monster of a wine is made from a very unusual grape variety for California. It shows a deep dark color, potent, smoky black-pepper aromas and bone-dry black-fruit flavors carried by unflinchingly firm tannins. It's fascinating to taste and imagine how long the wine should age to lose at least some of its impressive grip. Best after 2030. Jim Gordon
