The middle child of Yalumba's Tawny trio, this coffee-colored fortified shows its age more prominently than the 21-year-old. It emphasizes dusty library notes in combination with truffle, roasted walnut, coffee bean and faint whiffs of dried stone fruit and caramel. The palate is beautifully balanced, less viscous than its younger counterpart but also a touch less characterful. The nutty, dried fruit flavors mingle with the sweetness and alcohol, lingering in the mouth long after the wine is gone. Christina Pickard
