Zaca Mesa 2016 Z Cuvée Red (Santa Ynez Valley)

Mesquite-roasted berry aromas meet with graphite, damp wood and cocoa on the nose of this slightly aged blend of 56% Mourvèdre, 36% Grenache, 5% Cinsaut and 3% Syrah. Flavors of mushroom in a berry compote show on the palate, which is woody and showing some age, but still enjoyable. Matt Kettmann
