Zenaida Cellars 2011 Syrah (Paso Robles)

Editors' Choice

Tension arises on the nose between the ripe florality of fresh violets and the reductive scents of rubber. Those scents imply it may be rough on the palate, but it proves quite elegant, with blueberry fruit, lavender flowers and a bit of tar. A great Syrah for the price. Matt Kettmann
