This is a heavyweight blend of 87% Malbec and 13% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is piercing and raw, as fresh-cut cedar and black-fruit aromas drill away. The palate is huge but flabby in the middle, with jammy berry and herbal flavors that reflect Cabernet Sauvignon. Prune and burnt flavors are at the heart of this wine's loud finish. Drink through 2017. Michael Schachner
