A craft beer lover, Mauban relocated from Southern California to start his career at beer bar Tørst. There, he earned the designation of Certified Cicerone, the beer equivalent of a sommelier. Ryan also assisted with beverage pairings at Luksus, a beer and cider house, until it closed. Mauban moved to Lupulo, a craft beer-focused restaurant, where he led the beer program before leaving to start his own brewery, Root + Branch Brewing. His new venture plans to premier its first beers in the summer of 2018.
