Stirring things up
For Allison, social advocacy is a calling. She co-founded Chicago Style, a cocktail conference that debuted in May, focusing on sticky issues in the beverage industry like inclusivity, sustainability and gender equity. The festival was open to the public and featured industry voices from all backgrounds and included mixing competitions, panels and roundtables. Allison is also a founding board member of Chicago Period Project (CPP), which aids homeless and in-need people, and hosts Shift-Ease, a monthly party at her tropical cocktail bar Lost Lake that supports CPP and other local charitable organizations that work for progressive change.
