In 2012, after just two years of restaurant experience as a self-taught wine director at San Francisco’s Sons & Daughters, Karr seized an opportunity to join the team at Frasca. There, under the mentorship of Owner and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey, she oversaw one of the country’s most acclaimed and influential wine programs. The opening of its sister spot Tavernetta in 2017 brought Frasca’s renowned sense of hospitality and exhaustive Italian wine list to Denver in a more casual context. It also allowed quick-learning Karr to begin acting as a mentor to her own extensive team at both venues as well as Pizzeria Locale Boulder.
