CEO/Founder, Black Bourbon Society; Founder/Executive Director, Diversity Distilled, Atlanta
Chief Bourbon officer
Davis, née Rivers, didn’t see herself reflected in spirits companies’ Bourbon marketing. In 2016, she decided to change the game and founded Black Bourbon Society, a tiered membership organization that speaks to Black spirits enthusiasts through curated tastings and travel experiences plus an annual event, the Bourbon Boule. This year, she wrote an open letter to the spirits industry insisting it better support Black community members and launched a new nonprofit, Diversity Distilled, with husband Armond Davis. The consultancy works with brands to go beyond messaging and marketing to address structural diversity and inclusion issues.
