Inspired by the Black Lives Matter and #MeToo movements, and urged by climate change, Liu was compelled to highlight these issues as they relate to wine to effect change. Her podcast tackles subjects as diverse as environmentalism, sustainability and regenerative agriculture as well as diversity and inclusion.

As the founder of Asian Wine Professionals, her desire was to further the push for more BIPOC representation, specifically highlighting Asians and their contributions in the wine community. The platform has already facilitated donations from U.S. wine retailers to #StopAAPIHate and for more people to #DrinkAAPIWine.
